How long does the monthly subscription last?
There is a 12 month minimum. After that it rolls to month to month and you can cancel anytime with notice.
What if I cancel before 12 months?
Early cancellation owes the balance of the site's lump sum value minus what you have already paid. We would rather you stay because the work is good, not because of the contract, so ask us first.
Is the additional page fee one-time or monthly?
One-time. Pages beyond the five included are a single flat fee each, never a recurring charge.
Are refunds available?
If you are unhappy with the design before development starts, you pay nothing. Once we start building, payments are non-refundable.
Can I add unlimited edits to the lump sum plan?
Yes. Unlimited edits are available as a monthly add-on to the lump sum plan.
The Build Process
How long does a website take?
Two to four weeks from kickoff to launch for a typical site. The biggest variable is how quickly content and feedback come back to us.
Do you guarantee first page Google rankings?
No, and we would be careful with anyone who does. Nobody outside Google controls Google's results. What we do control, and build into every site, is what rankings are made of: sub-second load times, clean hand-written code, and structured data search engines read easily. We promise the inputs. No honest developer can promise the outputs.
Do you sell SEO services?
Technical SEO is built into every site we ship: fast loads, mobile-first markup, proper titles and descriptions, structured data, and a sitemap. We do not sell monthly SEO retainers. If you want ongoing content marketing or link building beyond that, we will say so plainly and you can hire a specialist for it.
Do you use WordPress or page builders?
No. Every site is hand-coded. That is why our sites are faster, safer, and never nag you about plugin updates.
What do you need from me to start?
A short questionnaire, your logo if you have one, and whatever photos or text you want on the site. Missing pieces are fine; we can work with placeholders and help with copy.
How do I request changes after launch?
Email us what you want changed. On the monthly plan, edits are unlimited and usually done within a couple of business days.
Ownership & Support
Do I own my domain name?
Always. Your domain is registered in your name and stays yours no matter what.
Do I keep the site if I cancel the monthly plan?
The monthly plan is a service, so the site comes down if you cancel, but you keep your domain and your content. The lump sum plan means you own the code outright from day one.
Do you build ecommerce or custom apps?
Yes, as separately quoted projects. Ecommerce stores and mobile or web apps are scoped individually because no two are alike. See the Custom Apps tier on the pricing page.
